Jan Baister has over 20 years experience of marketing in theatre and the arts. She began her career at Ticketmaster in 2001, setting up the Promotions team, sourcing affiliate partnerships and growing the digital marketing offering. She then moved to the Theatre team before being headhunted by See Tickets in 2004. She joined Delfont Mackintosh Theatres as their first Marketing Manager in 2005, working across their chain of seven prestigious West End theatres.

After joining AKA in 2007 she went on to run the marketing campaigns across a huge range of productions from plays, dance, musicals to immersive theatre for some of the most exciting commercial producers in the industry. These included Adam Spiegel Productions (Dance til Dawn, Midnight Tango, The Last Tango, The Mousetrap), ATG Productions (The End of Longing, Oslo), Emily Dobbs Productions (The Dazzle, Bug, Killer Joe), Elliott & Harper Productions (Heisenberg: The Uncertainty Principle, Company), ENO & Grade/Linnit (Sweeney Todd, Sunset Boulevard), Fiery Angel (The 39 Steps, The Night of the Iguana, The Son, Touching the Void), Jamie Hendry Productions (Let It Be, The Wind in the Willows), National Theatre Productions (War Horse, One Man, Two Guvnors, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, People, Places & Things), Playful Productions - The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia?, Punchdrunk - The Drowned Man, Theatre Royal Haymarket (Flare Path, Frozen, The Elephant Man), Smith & Brant Theatricals (The Pajama Game, True West), Stage Entertainment (Sister Act the Musical) and many more.

Since setting up JB Creative Consulting in 2020 she has worked across a diverse portfolio of projects including with Trafalgar Entertainment (Jersey Boys, A Strange Loop and Anything Goes), Runaway Entertainment (2:22 A Ghost Story), The Path Entertainment Group on immersive experiences, Monopoly Lifesized and SAW: The Experience, and with Smart Entertainment on documentary theatre productions, Grenfell: Value Engineering and Grenfell: System Failure to name a few.

Her love for the wider creative industries has lead to her offering a unique consultancy service offering inspiration and practical advice for those starting portfolio careers, or considering a career pivot. She offers specific marketing services such as social strategy and digital marketing tailored to individuals in creative careers, as well as more bespoke management options.
